The Massangana station is located in a territory with historical relevance. This territory is known for its economical and social importance that goes back to the 19th century. The requalification has the goal of preserving the place’s memory, strongly bounded to the historical relevance. A mapping of the conservation state of existent structures was conducted, and its served as a starting point for the definition of what will be preserved, qualified or demolished. The project proposed the maintenance of the most representing elements of the building set: the shed, the embarking and disembarking platform and the railway. The preserved structure will be restored, while the central slab, will be demolished, giving place to a central plaza.
